Hotel MET34, Athens

The technology here enhances the triptych of comfort, ease and safety for guests. Using the European KNX Protocol, the hotel provides a wide range of facilities to ensure that each room provides a unique experience for its occupants. Lighting and motorized blinds or sun visors function  through local KNX push buttons, while in each space there is a KNX TFT colourful display having Linux OS, with menus facilitating air conditioning control, additional lighting scenarios and room facilities commands such as ‘ Make Up Room’ or ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs in digital form.

The cooperation between the systems enables the initiation of “Welcome scene”, “Unoccupied room”, “Maintenance in progress” or “Make up room” scenarios, while at the main entrance, the autonomous KNX card reader gives access in the Hotel main entrance depending on guest credentials and time/date.

The integration of the audiovisual media is of particular interest since there is a special tablet application through which all other room functions, including television and ambient music, are controlled using IR/KNX interfaces.

Finally, in the reception there is a KNX general command push button, so that in case of emergency, the reception can open the doors of the rooms or bypass the automatic time control of the lighting in communal areas.
